PRIVACY LOST (2023)

Whether you call it Mixed Reality or Spatial Computing, our lives will increasingly become a seamless merger of the real and the virtual and will be deeply powered by AI. This has the potential to make our world a magical place where almost anything is possible.

Unfortunately, this magical future comes with great risks. Unless regulated, these devices will track our behaviors and monitor our emotions like never before. This could threaten our privacy and leave us vulnerable to AI-powered manipulation throughout our daily lives.

Privacy Lost is a short film about our augmented future and the dangers headed our way. Developed with support from Minderoo Pictures, Responsible Metaverse Alliance, and the XR Guild, it aims to educate policymakers about the emerging risks. The film was written by Louis Rosenberg, a researcher who developed the first mixed reality system at Air Force Research Laboratory over 30 years ago and who is now a vocal advocate for regulation
